Japanese tea is my favorite and I've tried a good amount of different varieties. I'm halfway through my bag and I must say this is the best so far. Visually, every leaf is green and vibrant and there are barely any crumbs. The smell is what you would expect from Sencha but you don't have to use as much as other brands to get the same boldness. The taste follows the smell and is exactly what you would expect but again it doesn't take much tea to reach the desired effect compared to other brands. I will be buying more from Sugimoto moving forward and can't wait to try their other varieties!

The organic sencha asamushi was fragrant with a grassy note. To me, it has a very pleasing aftertaste similar to Chinese licorice root. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted with the purchase.
